Crafting the Soundtrack for "Chocolate Man"

In his latest scoring venture for the film "Chocolate Man", Onur Tarçın has meticulously crafted a soundtrack that intertwines with the film's poignant narrative. The story follows the intense journey of war photographer Melson, who, amidst a devastated village, discovers a lone girl. Their bond, symbolized by a simple bar of chocolate, becomes a beacon of hope in the harrowing setting.

For this project, Tarçın delved deep into a sonic palette that encapsulates tension and darkness. The score is marked by its use of deformed field recordings, repetitive notes, and recurring dissonance. This haunting soundscape, accentuated by a string orchestra, resonates with the bleak yet emotionally charged atmosphere of the film.

Recorded in collaboration with the renowned FAME’S Studio Orchestra in North Macedonia, the film's score perfectly aligns with its narrative. "Chocolate Man" has been lauded by institutions such as the European Cinematography Awards (ECA), Los Angeles Film Awards, and the Asian Cinematography Awards, further showcasing the impact of Tarçın's musical contribution to its success.
